4 stars "My search for a compact disc of this wonderful soundtrack appears to be in vain. However, I am very happy that I had the foresight to buy the vinyl with its original cover over 20 years ago. This soundtrack is beautiful, mainly because of its absolutely first rate orchestral score. Because of the time when the film was made, there are vocals that are dated but precious. Overall, it is worth having. SOMEONE SHOULD RE-RELEASE THE SOUNDTRACK. I am sure several of us would purchase it at any price! I went to a film collectors weekend in London and found some soundtrack enthusiasts who lamented that there does not appear to be any score available in Italy either."

5 stars "I have loved, cherished, coveted this soundtrack for years. I first purchased it on vinyl and recorded it to tape. I thought I was the only person in the world who ever thought it exceptional since I could never find it. By chance, today, I found an old taped copy and thought just maybe....I nearly cried when my word search turned it up. It's a wonderful, wonderful sound track. You won't be disappointed."

I've just found your site and all I can say is, thank you, thank you, thank you! I've been looking for this music for... I don't know, THE PAST THIRTY YEARS! I remember going to library to try to find the name of the movie when I was 17. More Than A Miracle in America, C'Era Una Volta elsewhere. Goodness, I'm 38 now and I must have seen this movie when I was 8 or 9! It's still not on DVD here in the States. Out of the blue, I searched the movie title again and found there was a soundtrack too! From their I found the composer, but found that the soundtrack has been out of print for the past 11 years. I gave up, but kept on searching about this wonderful composer. And now I've found your site. Thank you. There is no better gift than the gift of music. I'm surprised more people aren't here saying the same! This is a blessing.

Thanks, Sniffdar! Yeah the old soundtracks are hard to come by, but I'm stoked to see people are still downloading them here. Glad to help fill in the gaps in your collection ;)

Alright. I have no choice but to ask. You have a very wide range of music here and it seems that your knowledge may span far more than what you've posted here. Perhaps you can help me identify the source of some music that I have been trying to find FOREVER. I can only tell you that it was played on a children's program during the 70's. There is a clip of it on YouTube which I will direct you to. The music starts at 9:12 into the video. The title on the screen says "Boffo Is Waiting In The Wings". They always used this strange "electronic" music during their intros. I know that it wasn't created for the show itself, we're talking about Phoenix, AZ in the '70's. Here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fvuP5SZCG4Q. There are 6 different videos listed on YouTube and all have this strange music, which seems to be from the same composer. Any ideas? I also placed a comment on YouTube as well. Thanks for checking it out!

Perhaps it was this guy?

"Music was always an important part of the show. In the 60’s, Mike Condello, a talented local Phoenix musician, was hired as the show’s music director.

Mike recorded a series of songs to the tunes of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band --which to this day sound incredibly like the real thing. (ie. to the tune of “A Day in the Life”—“I watched the tube today, Wallboy...you can watch the Wallace show and you don’t even have to pay. Why don’t you turn-us-on...”)

Mike also wrote the now famous opening theme called “Ho Ho Ha Ha Hee Hee Ha Ha” which is still requested to this day."

XMP,

Just a little update...

I found another site devoted to Wallace and Ladmo, Wallacewatchers.com. I sent them a email and this was the response;

"Hi Ron,

I will ask Wallboy if he remembers what the name of the ditty is. He would pull music clips from many different sources for the Old Time Movies and such. Thanks for checking out the website.

Steve"

So yes, it is soundtrack music from another source as I figured. Just as soon as I hear something from them, I'll be sure to let you know as well. The best description I could call it is Electronic Samba from the 1970's. Ha!

Thanks again!

Hello, as Sniffdar has so beautifully put it - this album been my Holy Grail for the last 20 years.....and now I have found it on your site!! There is no way I can adequately describe my appreciation to, but with my sincerest voice, thank you.
Amazingly from the research I have done over the years I've discovered many extended releases of this soundtrack with alternate and extended versions of the tracks. I dream that one day these will be available. With everything in my heart, thank you again. This, and you, is truly more than a miracle.....

Well, almost 4 years later, I'm still playing the heck out of this soundtrack. In December of 2008, I purchased my first home. It's one of those Mid-Century Ranch jobs with pierced block. This soundtrack, along with The Swimmer, Barbarella and Gattaca are on repeat day and night. It's the soundtrack to my home. When I received notification that rikdias had left a comment, I quickly came back to the site. In the time since finding the soundtrack, I too have found the movie. The up and down look that Sophia Loren gives the other princess is priceless, while the slap that Omar Sharif delivered is shocking every time I watch it. Knowing that websites come and go and links become invalid in less than 30 days, I congratulate you for still being here and providing this resource. And yes, this is a resource. I wouldn't have found this in a library and even mild searches in the past didn't turn up any results.

Again, I say thank you.

As for that "strange samba" music that I mentioned that played during a commercial break on Wallace & Ladmo, I'm still looking for it. When I do discover the artist, I'll be sure to let you know.

Again, thank you.
