We've never seen any of these on the original vinyl -- and just about every cut is culled from a rare French jazz, soundtrack, or instrumental LP! There's a whopping 17 tracks in all, and the groove ranges from Blacksploitation funky to breakbeat moog to De Wolfe groovy -- with lots of other grooves in between. Raumpatrouille - Die phantastischen Abenteuer des Raumschiffs Orion, colloquially also known as Raumpatrouille Orion, is the first German science fiction television series. Its seven episodes were broadcast by the ARD in 1966, with the first episode aired on Sept. 17th. It achieved audience ratings of up to 80%. The series has since acquired cult status in Germany. Raumpatrouille translates as "Space Patrol" in English.

The soundtrack was composed by Peter Thomas. As emblematic as Thomas' catchy soundtrack was the voiceover introduction, which both, like used in Star Trek of the same year, set tone and atmosphere of the series.

Voiceover introduction in German:
"Was heute noch wie ein Märchen klingt, kann morgen Wirklichkeit sein. Hier ist ein Märchen von Übermorgen: es gibt keine Nationalstaaten mehr. Es gibt nur noch die Menschheit und ihre Kolonien im Weltraum. Man siedelt auf fernen Sternen. Der Meeresboden ist als Wohnraum erschlossen. Mit heute noch unvorstellbaren Geschwindigkeiten durcheilen Raumschiffe unser Milchstraßensystem. Eins dieser Raumschiffe ist die ORION, winziger Teil eines gigantischen Sicherheitssystems, das die Erde vor Bedrohungen aus dem All schützt. English translation:
"What may sound like a fairy tale today may be tomorrow's reality. This is a fairy tale from the day after tomorrow: There are no more countries. There is only mankind and its colonies in outer space. Mankind has settled on faraway stars. He has settled on the ocean floor. With velocities still unimaginable today, spaceships are rushing through our Milky Way. One of these spacecraft is the ORION, a minuscule part of a gigantic security system protecting the Earth from threats from outer space. We shall now accompany the ORION and her crew patrolling at the edge of infinity."

This groovy album, recorded on Cometa (an obscure music library label) is a perfect mix of organ beat, bossa jazz, fast fuzz, batucada, samba beat with funky flute. Of course this is the first album by the legendary Marc 4 studio group - a funky Italian combo that often featured Armando Trovajoli on keyboards, plus backing by guitar, drums, and bass. The name I Marc 4 (or Marc 4) comes from the initials of their members: Maurizio Majorana (Bass), Antonello Vannucci (Hammond/Piano), Roberto Podio (Drums/Percussion) and Carlo Pes (guitar) who played and recorded most of Travajoi's compositions. The keyboards vary from funky organ to jangly electric harpsichord to sharp-edged piano and the group's sound is often complimented by some extra horn work. Groove-tastic!

This unique lounge compilation collects a series of tracks from the vaults of Vedette Records, an Italian label presided over by producer and lounge composer Armando Sciascia. The music they produced was released on compilations intended for music library use, but the music presented here is strong enough that it could have garnered a commercial release. These tracks mix rock, soul, and jazz together in a stylish manner that blends an easy listening sense of pop hooks with an experimental instrumental and sonic approach. Although Phase 6 Super Stereo is a lounge compilation, some of the tracks rock in a surprisingly heavy manner: Blue Phantom's "Diodo" is a blistering slab of psychedelic rock that layers slashing fuzz-guitar riffs over a thunderous drum beat and Green Future's punchy cover of "I'm a Man" mixes gritty saxophone and hard-hitting, disco-styled rhythms to entrancing effect. Other tracks pursue a softer but no less interesting style of lounge music: Peter Hamilton's "Desert Heat" highlights a jazzy saxophone lead against a percolating, organ-led backdrop and Cat Collins' "Le Grisbi" features the harmonica and electric guitar trading licks over a pop-jazz beat fleshed out with some otherworldly electric keyboards. Even the occasional standard that pops up manages to sound fresh thanks to the innovative approaches of the musicians: Puccio Roelen's take on "Caravan" has an exotic feel thanks to its mixture of electronically filtered keyboards and Latin-styled percussion and Bruno Battisti D'Amario's version of "Mas Que Nada" boasts an imaginative choral harmony arrangement.

No Info whatsoever. But 'Wack Attack' and 'Attack the Wack' are recurring phrases in Dolemite's Disco Godfather. I guess maybe it was very short-lived vernacular when coke and pcp were in full effect. 'Beam Me Up Scottie' is another one I love. 'Crack Attack' is my own personal creation.

Can't find anything on this Wack Attack record, so here's something about Disco Godfather...

So anyway, then DG attends an anti-angel dust rally whose theme is “Attack the Whack.” IT is supported by the all-female “Angels Against Dust,” where Carol Speed is giving a speech. I can only assume that Ms. Speed, who was in Abby and The Mack, is only here [and received second billing] for her name, as she only appears in this one scene. She obviously didn't spend much time learning her lines, as she advises the group that she wants to “Whack the attack against angel dust.” It's funnily realistic, as it perfectly, if unintentionally, captures the spirit of a public official who knows and cares nothing about a certain civic problem, and is on hand just to garner votes. Later, our friendly doctor says he wants to “Fight a thing that might save the lives of thousands of young people.” A second later Ms. Speed is heard chanting “attack the whack” when she is obviously not speaking at all. Apparently they didn't have the budget for reshoots on this scene, as it contains the absolute most errors of any part of the movie.
