Originally released as a cassette back in 1987 as a tape on Staalplaat (ST 00L), Loh Land is one of the few albums from Zoviet France’s early days that encapsulates many of their ideas for a fictional music rich with amorphously spiritual connotations. The aforementioned drones, dubs, and drums alongside distanced vocal chants with have been thoroughly abstracted through a series of delay effects boxes, tape loop machines, and multi-track studio tricks, to create the album’s murky atmosphere. Zoviet France’s Loh Land succeeds in being beautifully but indeterminately holy. Original recordings made April 1985. This cd version was released on Staalplaat (STCD 018) in 1992.
Random schmattering of 45s I ripped at the mysterious subterranean bunker of At0m Global Research Labs last week... Deodato's 'Spirit of Summer' was my personal favorite from the stack - it was in between Cameo and Lou Rawls 45s with no sleeve, but sounds nothing like anything else in the stack. Extremely dope...
This is a tape rip from the rare Lebanese Cheese 22030 tv series' soundtrack...
The TV series never aired, but was a weird foreign spin-off of Beverly Hills 90210 featuring Lebanese cast members who slightly resemble 90210's main characters.
The main star was a popular local goat who the teenagers milked and curded into fine lebanese goat cheese (hence title) - but production came to a halt after allegations concerning the guy who played "Dylan" having unnatural relations with "Donna" (the goat).
Eek-A-Mouse, known for his signature squeaky voice, rose to fame in Jamaica in 1980 with the hit single Wha Do Dem. That was followed by Modelling Queen, another hit single which appeared on his first album Bubble Up Yu Hip. Eek-A-Mouse ruled on the music scene for the next couple of years and toured extensively throughout the early 1990s.
These are both sessions Eek a Mouse recorded for the Peel program. Despite releasing his first album "Bubble Up Yu Hip" in 1980 it was 1983 before Eek a Mouse was invited to Maida Vale to record his first Peel Session by which time he was promoting the release of his fourth album "The Assassinator". This was actually a kind of double session of which this was the second half as the band had been in Maida Vale the previous day to record a session for Kid Jenson (broadcast on 12/10/1983). Peel often complained about reggae artists not turning up at Maida Vale despite being booked. There was no problem with Eek a Mouse however and he returned the following year for a second session.

I'm not entirely sure where this recording actually comes from, or for that matter what show it was broadcast on.I think this is the show recorded on 24th May 1973 at the Paris Cinema, Regent Street, London. What I do know though is this is a brilliant show and a copy of it should occupy a place in everyones record collection. If you can tell me more about it, please get in touch.

4 Selectors, 1 Sampler and 1 Space Echo unit make up the group. We merge the underground Dub sounds of the 70s and 80s with newer Dub music, mixed in with a little roots reggae; VS bring together the classic hardcore/punk rock aesthetic of the 70s & 80s with the stripped-down drum & bass sound of the orignal Dub masters…. VS sounds like: King Tubby, Prince Jammy, Aswad, On-U Sound, Bad Brains, The Clash, Ruts DC, Jah Shaka. Version Sound resides at the legendary Eighteenth Street Lounge wednesdays alongside John Bowen and live reggae band See-I.
